На встрече с активистами ОНФ обсуждались острые проблемы региона такие как проблемы транспортной доступности островов, экологическая ситуация, катастрофические результаты лососевой путины в области. В качестве положительного примера, приводился опыт работы Сахалинского штаба по проверкам ветхого и аварийного жилья, когда рекомендации ОНФ были взяты на вооружение региональными властями.

Александр Бречалов дважды был удостоен звания «Железный человек», покорив в триатлоне дистанцию Ironman. В последний раз всего лишь за 10 ч 41 м он проплыл 3,8 км, проехал на велосипеде 180 км и пробежал марафон (42,2 км). Финишировал он с поднятым над головой российским флагом. Кроме того, А. Бречалов пробежал Байкальский марафон, переплыл Волгу в рамках заплыва «Соединяя берега» (4,7 км), а также участвовал в других экстремальных мероприятиях подобного рода.
«Интересно, что вместе с Бречаловым в марафонах и заплывах принимают участие и его коллеги по общественной работе, которым он привил любовь к спорту, — заметил Ю.Дьяков. – Причем напряженные тренировки и соревнования он сочетает с активной работой по борьбе с коррупцией и контролю за исполнением «майских указов» президента РФ. Закономерно, что сопредседатель Общероссийского народного фронта признан самым перспективным общественным деятелем России».
Сахалинские активисты ОНФ считают, что необходимо активнее использовать опыт Александра Бречалова для воспитания российской молодежи.
